Seriously?

I heard a commercial on the radio that amazed me. It was advertising a website for married dating! What? I turned up the volume and kept listening. I heard:

"When monogamy becomes monotony..."

"For people who are in a committed relationship but want to have fun on the side anonymously..."

"Specializes in meeting the distinct needs of attached and married women wishing to meet single or attached men with a mutual desire to share novelty, risk, and ..."

"Married but want more?"

NICE! People, you marry someone because you love them. You make a promise to each other in front of God. Did you really think that marriage would always be "fun"? You will get on each other's nerves, you will argue, the butterflies that you used to feel when you were dating will go away. All of that is normal. BUT, you made a commitment to each other. I can't believe that there is a website that is just a click away that I can sign up on and meet someone who is also married but "wants to have fun on the side". Do the people that participate in this ridiculous act think that they will not end up getting hurt? Do they think that they will not hurt anyone else? Do they realize how damaging this could be to their marriage...and soul? I know that people have strayed since the beginning of time...but to hear a commercial about a website that assists in finding someone for you is crazy. The people that run/own the website have also put up a billboard that says "Life is short. Have an affair". Classy. How do the people that are making money off of this website sleep at night? Sad.

Thank you for saying what you did. I hope that it is heard by many and thought about. Maybe if people went thru a divorce first and then did a marriage, they would maybe try to make it work. someone always gets hurt, but your not thinking about that at the time. Just Self. And thank you for the most important thing. God. He set this up the right way. We always tend to try and screw it up somehow!!!

First-I love the soapbox pic!, ok...I am appalled! I can believe it's out there, because it's ALL out there and it's all a click away, but to advertise it, with billboards even, makes me SICK. How sad...it makes me scared for our kids. We are adults, and can say "that's rediculous," but kids soak every little thing in, even signs on the side of the road. Even Hannah has pointed out pictures on billboards. I can't wait till she can read! "What's an affair, Mommy?"
