Alright ladies! I want you to tell me what your first New Kids On The Block memory is!
Mine? Well...I remember being at church one night and a new boy showed up in my youth group. I remember thinking "He kind of looks like that cute guy from the New Kids On The Block". I was referring to Donnie, but didn't know his name at the time. A few weeks later the American Music Awards were on TV. I heard that the New Kids were going to perform so I set up my VCR to record them. It was January of 1990! After seeing this performance, I was 100% in love!
18 years after their performance on the American Music Awards, I still love those 5 boys from Boston! :)
Now, tell me your first memory of the New Kids?

I have to say that they look much better now than they did 18 years ago! I'm so jealous that you guys get to see them in concert!
I don't know what my first memory of them is exactly, but I know that I was in the 6th grade and my best friend at church liked them, and I think I discovered them through her...I'm not sure. I remember that for my birthday I got a NKOTB t-shirt...but it didn't have their faces on it b/c my mom didn't think that was appropriate!!!!
That was probably my 12th or 13th birthday and my 30th is just a couple weeks away and I wouldn't mind one bit if Aric got me their new cd! Some things don't change too much!
Wow, my first memory. I think my first memory of them was seeing "The Right Stuff Video" on MTV or VH1, and I think I was at either my Dad's house or Aimee McCullough's cause we didn't have cable, and I wasn't alllowed to watch MTV. hehe. I just thought Jordan was so hot!! And yes, I thought he was Hot, not cute, hot. He was and still is!!! I can't beleive I get to finally meet him, and not once but twice. It doesn't seem quite real yet.
I know it's crazy that we could get so psyched up about them even today, but if you only knew how much I adored them back then, you would understand. Mat thinks I'm silly but he likes that I am having fun re-living some of those old, and fun memories. We were such silly girls back then, it was fun though and I didn't care what anybody thought.
Ok, I'll stop now. I could type forever about them, hahahah!
Ok, I really can't think of the first (there are way too many b/c I LOVED them), but I do remember the day the concert tickets went on sale...I sat at the phone in the kitchen and pushed redial about 100x's before I got an operator. Flash forward to the concert at Reunion Area with my 3 girlfriends...it was my 1st concert and I was in 8th grade. I didn't cry like my friend did when they came on, but I was anxious to get my Joey tee and sing my heart out with them! I still have a box of "memorabilia" in the attic with that tee inside, as well as tons of other NKOTB stuff.
Ummm, I can NOT wait for next month!! All I know was Joe was super young when we first fell in love with them. And he is still the best looking one. I have several memories of the boys... many include the count less hours watching their videos and jumping on the trampoline to their tape. Yes, tape. Then Cagnola and I had "Dickerson/CAgnola day" and got to go see them in concert one night and miss school the next day. :)
